How do I prepare the cable for a N Male Crimp Connector for 400 size cable?
If you have a prep tool, it is very easy:

If using heat shrink, put it on the cable
Put outer ferrule on the cable
Using prep tool, twist the #1 side on the cable until it stops, the flip over to the #2 side and twist until it stops.  The cable is fully prepped and cut at this point.
Put the center pin on the copper center conductor and solder into place
Put the main body of the connector on the cable, keeping the braid of the cable outside the body
Move the ferrule up to the body of the connector so that the braid is sandwiched between the body and the ferrule.
Crimp the ferrule using a .429 die
Move the heat shrink up over the ferrule and shrink

If you do not have a prep tool, do the following:

If using heat shrink, put it on the cable
Put outer ferrule on the cable
Cut back 3/8" from the end of the cable and remove the jacket, braid, and dielectric so that only the center conductor remains.  Do not nick the center conductor.
Cut off 1/2" of the black outer jacket, leaving the braid of the cable fully intact.
Put the center pin on the copper center conductor and solder into place
Put the main body of the connector on the cable, keeping the braid outside the connector body
Move the ferrule up to the body of the connector so that the braid is sandwiched between the body and the ferrule.
Crimp the ferrule using a .429 die
Move the heat shrink up over the ferrule and shrink
