Extending wireless network to an outbuilding
I have a customer that I installed satellite internet (WildBlue) in their house. They want 1) to have wireless internet  in house and 2) to have wireless internet  in a metal outbuilding about2500 feet away. Has a perfect line of sight, nothing in the way between house and outbuilding. Thank you.

For wireless Internet in their house, I recommend the Linksys WRT54GL router:

For the metal outbuilding, you will need a client bridge:

This will need to be connected to a directional antenna on the outside of the
building which points in the direction of the house.  I recommend this antenna:

You will need a cable to go from the client bridge to the antenna:

Choose an RP-TNC Male connector and an N Male connector

This will give you an standard Ethernet cable connection inside the
outbuilding.  You can plug that into another access point, such as another
WRT54GL:

For this access point, you disable the Internet connection and plug the
connection from the bridge into the LAN port.  This will extend your wireless network out into the outbuilding.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you!
